The Florida Eels Sr. Chowder Cup Teams Doing Very Well At the Showcase

The Florida Eels fielded two teams at the Pro Am Sr Chowder Cup Showcase The teams are made up of 4-5 veteran Eels players and the 34  remaining players are solid prospects. The Eels Jr A team has had very close games being edged out 1 goal in each of the contest. This is indeed quite impressive as the Eels have played against numerous NCAA Div. i players in their Jr. A Division.

The Eels second squad continues to roll garnering a tie in game one and a solid win on game two. They have showed tremendous  resolve earning the win as they had to battle back to first capturing a tie and then with seconds remaining scored t garner the win.

Both teams have squared off vs some solid teams made up of extremely talented players. You come to the Sr Chowder Cup to gain the experience of playing with and against the top players in North America and Europe. This has been accomplished. The second reason is to gain the exposure – to play in front of decision makers – the college coaches and that too was accomplished. There are over 100 scouts here from the NHL NCAA and top Junior programs. No doubt this has been a win win for our players.

Moreover our coaches have gotten the opportunity to get to know many of the prospects we brought to the showcase. It is one thing to have seen them play on other teams. It is an altogether different situation when you get to coach them game after game and in practice.
