The Florida Eels Premier Team Defeated the Jr Blades 4-3

The drama was set for the midweek game between the Florida Eels Premier and the Jr Blades. This is one of the best rivalries in all of Junior hockey. Many great games over the decade and a half. Two teams with a lot of pride and determination.  Last night was no exception. We witnessed the lead change hands several times back and forth.  In the end the Eels showed why they were ranked at the top in the Power Rankings. They suffocated the Blades defensively in timely situations and overwhelmed them offensively with an onslaught of missiles at their netminders. The Eels pounded 47 shots at the Blades goalie and he stopped 43.  Credit to their goalie as the Eels had some point blanked shots that would have normally cruised by many other opposing goalies, and he somehow thawed 6-7 potential goals. He indeed, stood on his head and played solid.

But Caron played stronger. It was a goalie duel, and he was the better of the two. Caron turned away 26 of 29 shots  from the Blades.  It was a solid over all game for the entire Eels team.  Adam Gaudet had a pair of goals that highlighted his night. Additionally, we had several Eels players who had 2 points – Kayde Budgell with a goal and an assist, and both  XavIer Delage  and Easton Moore picked up a pair of assists each.

The Eels further increased their lead over the Tampa Juniors. The Juniors take on Palm Beach this weekend and we saw last weekend the Typhoon will give you tough games so the Juniors cannot take them for granted or they will be on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Elsewhere Atlanta travels to Estero to take on the Blades.

The Eels are off this weekend and take on Tampa next Friday in Tampa and home on Sunday. We have yet to play them this season.

Good job guys and impressive win indeed.
