The Florida Eels Sign Second Top Swedish Player from Futures Stars Academy

The Florida Eels are thrilled to announce the signing of its second player from Sweden Alexander Edskar to its Premier team for next season. Edskar is a 2002 defensemen who we scouted at the Future Stars Identification Camp held in Sweden in May. This camp was one of the top Junior prospects camps in Europe with extremely high end players, many of which who were drafted by the USHL and selected by top USA College programs.

We loved what we saw in Alexander. He too is a high end player. He has great size and uses his physicality to wear down opponents in his zone. He owns the house so to speak. A goalies best friend.

He is equally effective along the boards. He has strong gap control controlling entry. He is smart with 1st outlet passes and jumps in on the transition game to create offense with 4 guys on the line rush.

He is an ever present threat on the offensive blue-line. He has a nice heavy shot that gets through to the opposing net-minder. You can tell he is a smart player. High Hockey IQ and plays with a high compete level. During the weekend of scouting, all 4 Eels coaches selected Edskar as our top pick for our Defensemen

He will undoubtedly be an impactful player for the Eels this season. We are very happy he will be joining our lineup in the Fall
