Delage is a highly skilled Defensemen with solid vision of the ice. He has outstanding peripheral vision that allows for him to make nice passes and set up plays. He plays very well in all 3 zones. Exceptionally smart in the defensive zone. Strong gap in the neutral zone and has a solid hard shot from the offensive blueline. He relentlessly battles along the boards and in front of the net that outworks his opponents. He brings a very high compete level to his game. He has an unwavering work ethic. He has excellent puck handling skills, makes razor sharp passes. He is a strong skater with explosive speed. These skills make him quite dangerous with the ability to jump in on the rush. He joins a long line of talented defensemen who have played for the Eels over the years. Our Canadian scouts echo that Xavier brings so many intangibles to the team including the insatiable thirst and hunger to every game. We enthusiastically welcome Xavier to the Eels program.
