Clement Espinasse 6’0’ 160 l pounds from Montpellier, France. He just recently returned from his IHC NCDC Main Camp tryout at Merrimack College along with several other Eels veterans and Eels prospects. GM Scarpaci who was also at the NCDC camp noted that Clement did very well. He held his own against some pretty tough competitors. It was a phenomenal experience for him. He gained invaluable experience as a player as he competed against NCAA Division I players and guys who made the USHL and NCDC teams. He learned what he had to do to bring his game to the “Next Level” It was also an excellent forum for him gaining exposure in front of the NCDC coaches and College coaches present at the IHC Main Camp.”
Last season, Clement split time between the Premier team and Elite squad. In 39 games on the Elite Team Clement had 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points. He was able to capture 5 games with the Premier team. Premier Coach Frank Scarpaci notes “Clement has excellent skill set. He is a smooth skater with very good hands”. In fact, commented, Coach Scarpaci, I invited Clement to join the Premier team when we advanced to Nationals to garner the atmosphere of playing at the Next Level “
Elite Coach Alex Sanchez comments “Clement can be very shifty and has the ability to take over a game. Now that he has been immersed into the American style of play, he will take his game to the Next Level.” It is up to us to help him harness his skill set and integrate them with his passion and heart”
GM Scarpaci concludes, “He is expected blossom into a well-rounded player. He plays with a high compete level and very passionate and plays with enormous determination.” This will be his 3rd season in North America. He came to the Eels via HPA Sports Management who originally had him groomed in Canada at the OHA. Clement shared the Eels mission this year: Nationals and his own goal is to advance to play NCAA College Hockey. The Eels are very excited about him signing back with us/
