Global Organizers Outstanding Job There were plenty of players and the talent was very strong
Folks the Eels coaches have finished their 3rd and final day at the Global Camps and Showcase in Chicago. We had Florida Eels GM, Eels Premier Coach and 2 Eels scouts. We scouted 10 teams. Each team had 15 skaters and 3 goalies. They all played 4 games and had 2 practices per team. There were 14 NCAA Div. 1 coaches present and they conducted every practice. There were a 1/2 dozen NCAA Div. 3 coaches who also joined the Div. 1 coaches.
This was very impressive and extremely fruitful for the players who competed in the showcase. Our own Eels Premier Coach Frank Scarpaci was one of the coaches on the bench for 4 games and it gave him an excellent opportunity to meet and work with 70 players. The remaining Eels staff was extremely busy scouting and interviewing dozens of the prospects.
It was so great for the Eels coaches to get close and personal with the players and their parents. This is a very unique experience and Global is the only showcase that integrates the NCAA Div. 1 and 3 coaches with the players. In addition to NCAA coaches, there were several coaches from the USHL, the BCHL and the USPHL including GM Scarpaci who was part of the panel of coaches.
The Eels staff feel very good about the players we scouted and talked with. We want to thank the Global Sports Group for being so generous to the Eels coaching and scouting staff and allowing us to be part of this prestigious event. GM Scarpaci has been attending the Global events for over 12 years. The venues are Vancouver, Chicago and Las Vegas.
