Congratulations to this week’s USPHL Players Of The Week from the USPHL Premier’s Southern Divisions.

Forward: Brendan Johns, DME Swamp Rabbits.

Johns (‘98/Greensburg, Pa.) joined DME from the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs just prior to the new year, and has been on fire since playing in the Florida Division. He scored two goals in Saturday’s tight 5-4 win, including the game-winner, and added three goals and two assists in Sunday’s victory for a seven-point weekend.

Overall, he has 32 points in 29 games, 16 of those points coming in 11 games with DME.

Defense: Lukas Aaw, Florida Eels.

Aaw (‘99/Stockholm, Sweden) factored in on half the Eels’ offense in their 6-3 win over Tampa Bay last weekend, scoring two goals and one assist. He and his “D” mates kept Tampa to just 27 shots on goal for the game, as well.

Goal: James Grasinger, Atlanta Jr. Kings.

Grasinger (‘00/Freeport, Pa.) won a real goaltenders duel between he and Carolina’s Gage Roberts on Saturday. Grasinger stopped 36 of 37 shots for a 2-1 win, and Roberts was also strong in turning away 34 of 36. Grasinger’s .931 save percentage places him in the top 15 league-wide among goalies with at least 780 minutes played.
