Congratulations to this week’s USPHL Elite Players Of The Week representing the South Divisions (Southeast/Florida).

Forward: Jake Court, Florida Eels.

Court (‘00/Fort Myers, Fla.) had a monstrous weekend for the Eels tallying 11 points in four Islanders Hockey Club Showcase games. He had four goals and seven assists, bringing his point total to 48 points in 24 games this season. “Jake has a ton of individual skill and thinks the game at a high level,” said Eels GM Frank Scarpaci. “He has contributed as much defensively this season as he has offensively. The Eels staff expects Jake to continue leading his team to success.”

Defense: Trevor Voyda, Florida Eels.

Voyda (‘01/Naples, Fla.) had a tremendous weekend for the Eels this past weekend scoring one goal and two assists. “He is a big guy at 6-feet-1-inch, 235 pounds, and he owns the ‘D’ zone,” said Eels GM Frank Scarpaci. “He has a very high hockey IQ and is one of the best defensive defensemen in the league.”

Goal: Ross Jones, Hampton Roads Whalers.

A repeat selection here, Jones (‘00/London, Ont.) faced 90 shots over the course of two games this past weekend in Charlotte, stopping all but four of them for a .955 save percentage on the weekend, as the Whalers split their series with the Charlotte Rush. Jones is up to 7-1-0 on the season with a 1.60 GAA and .948 save percentage.
