Florida Eels Spotlight: Alex Cochran and Yiorgos Bikakis

Cochran:Newest Eels Rising Star

Florida Eels Premier had a shining star this weekend, as returning veteran Alex Cochran grabbed an impressive five point (including a Hat-Trick in game one!) over a two game period. Texas native, Cochran began his hockey back in Texas as he dominated in the U18 Division. Cochran joined the Eels last season where he made his debut playing for the Florida Eels Elite team. During this time he played in 38 games, scored 16 goals, had 26 assists, with a total of 42 points. Over the summer Cochran continued to develop his game and participated with the Florida Eels at the Chowder Cup and Pre Draft events in Massachusetts.

Alex Cochran’s determination and hard work during the four-week pre-season training camp, landed him a spot on the Florida Eels Premier team for the 2024-2025 season. It was clear that a fire had been lit and Cochran was ready to make his mark. Saturday, September 14th, 2024, during the Florida Eels Premier Home/Season opener Cochran scored an impressive three goals, earning his first hattrick of the season. However, his work was not done, Cochran came out with the same fire power on Sunday, September 15th, as he earned another goal and an assist during the Eels Premier’s second game against the Atlanta Mad Hatters. Cochran had an impressive five point opening weekend, and debut with the Premier team.

Cochran is a true testament of the Eels player development ability. As Cochran untroubledly worked hard on the Eels Elite furthering his game, and knowledge. Then continued to hone these skills through the summer with the Eels at the Chowder Cup and Pre-Draft events. It is with this development that he was able to earn his spot on the Premier team. Alex Cochran is definitely a player to watch this season, as he continues to leave his mark.
