Florida Eels Split Day One at the Indiana Showcase

The Florida Eels made their debut at the USPHPL Mid-West College Showcase in Fort Wayne Indiana, Friday November 8th. Although both teams battled hard in their games for the win, it was the Florida Eels Elite that came out victorious Friday afternoon.

Florida Eels Premier, faced off against the Chicago Crush on Friday morning. After a scoreless period and half, the Chicago Crush grabbed the first point of the game at 12:36 in the second period. At 16:48, in the second period it was Yiorgos Bikakis assisted by Fernando Moreno and Mitchell Wilson, that tied the game 1-1. Ending the second period, the Florida Eels Premier and Chicago Crush remained deadlocked 1-1. After 12:44 the Chicago Crush, scored their second and final goal of the game, claiming a 2-1 victory over the Florida Eels Premier.

Florida Eels Elite, faced off against the Chicago Cougars on Friday afternoon. It was the Chicago Cougars, that claimed the first point of the game at 5:43 in the first period. At 18:07 in the first, Tyson Gagnon assisted by Samuel Kleiman-Lee and Stepan Kuznets tied the game 1-1. At 5:73 in the second period, Chicago Cougars, claimed their second goal of the game, and took the lead for the second time of the afternoon. However, at 10:09 in the second,  it was Nikita Shchevyev assisted by Stepan Kuznets, tied the game 2-2. At 15:54 Sam Kleiman-Lee, assisted by Tyson Gagnon and Stepan Kuznets took the lead for the Eels for the first time in the game, leading 3-2. At 18:24, Zayn Haddon-Harris assisted by Etienne Cartier, scored the Eels fourth goal of the game. The Eels lead 4-2 at the end of the second period. At 10:28 in the third period, it was Filip Nyberg assisted by Samuel Kleiman-Lee and Zayn Haddon-Harris, that claimed the Eels fifth and final goal for the Eels. The Eels claiming a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Cougars.

Both the Florida Eels Premier and Elite have a double header, on Saturday November 9th. Florida Eels Premier start first at 9:25 am when they take on the Decatur Blaze. The Eels Elite follow at 1:05 pm when they face off against the Decatur Blaze. The Eels Premier face off later in the evening at 5:35 pm against the Fort Wayne Spacemen, and the eels Premier follow at 6:05 pm when they face off against MJDP.
