Florida Eels Premier head to the Advent Health Center Ice Arena for their first game of their double header day, Saturday January 4th 2025, for an 11:30am start. The Florida Eels prepared to take on the number four ranked Metro Jets. Noah Van Herik started in his thirteenth game of the season, first game of the showcase. The Eels invigorated from yesterday’s 5-1 win against the Red River Spartans, were determined to claim their second showcase win today.

Florida Eels claimed the first point of the game when Seth Morris, unassisted lit the lamp at 4:02 in the first . At 17:43 in the first the Metro Jets responded to the Eels lone goal, and tied the game 1-1. However, at 18:01 it was Eels Kenny Granacker, assisted by Blake Becker and Owen Peter’s, grabbed the Eels second goal, claiming a 2-1 lead to close the first period.

With the Eels in lead, they lined up center ice, to face off for the start of the second period. At 7:38 in the second period, Metro Jets grab a short handed goal, tying up the game 2-2. Florida Eels and Metro Jets remained deadlocked 2-2 for the remainder of the second period and into the third period. At 11:16 in the third period, Florida Eels Yiorgos Bikakis, assisted by Seth Morris and Matthew Cunningham, score a power play goal! The Eels are once again in the lead over the Metro Jets. With a little less than half the third period left, the Florida Eels and the Metro Jets are in a battle to see who will control and win the game! In the end, it was the Florida Eels, with Noah Van Herik in net, that came out victorious in Saturday afternoons matchup.

Florida Eels, claim a 3-2 win over the number four ranked Metro Jets, and tie for second place in the Florida Division with Bold City Battalion.
