Congratulations to our Players Of The Week from the USPHL Premier’s Southern divisions (Florida, Southeast).

Forward: Tie – Giovanni Perillo, DME Swamp Rabbits; Conner Hunt, Hampton Roads Whalers.

Perillo (‘01/Montreal, Que.) came into the Islanders Hockey Club Showcase with four goals and 10 points. In just four games, he added three goals and two assists for five points to those totals for his best weekend yet.

Hunt (‘98/Frisco, TX), a third-year member of the Whalers, was masterful during the Whalers’ sweep over the Charlotte Rush. He put up five points from three goals and two assists, and registered the game-winning goal in both contests.

Defense: Lukas Aaw, Florida Eels.

This ‘99 from Stockholm, Sweden, posted one goal and four assists for five points at the Islanders Hockey Club Showcase, to give him 17 points in 24 games this season.

“Lukas was a huge force for the Eels’ defense this past weekend,” said Eels GM Frank Scarpaci. “He is a great puck-moving defenseman that logs major minutes for the Eels, and his goal was the OT game-winner against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers.”

Goal: Alec Lindberg, Hampton Roads Whalers.

The ‘98 from Bedford, N.H., stopped a perfect 38 of 38 shots on Saturday night as the Whalers shut out Charlotte, 5-0. Lindberg picked up his 11th win in the season and his second shutout. He is fifth in the USPHL Premier in goals against average (1.64) and seventh in save percentage (.941).
