Gage Dill Scores A Pair To Lead The Eels to Victory
The Eels squared off against the Chicago Cougars who are the MidWest East Champions. This was a nice matchup as both the Eels and the Cougars finished in First Place in the Regular season and were the Champions in their respective playoffs.
The Eels got the best of the Cougars outshooting them 49-19 indeed, an impressive 2-1 margin in the contest. The Eels equally dominated zone time and smothered the Cougars on the fore-check and doubling down suffocating them in the D Zone. To say the Eels came out hitting would be the understatement of the year. The Eels played a very physical game and wore the Cougars down. The Eels used their size to their advantage throughout all 3 periods.
The Eels took the lead early and maintained it throughout the game. In fact the Cougars netminder played a solid game and held the score to 4 against. He played a solid game against the Eels – who are one of the most potent offense in the league.
Eels veteran forward Gage Dill however, could not be contained – he scored a pair of big goals for the Eels. Dill has done this throughout his tenure with the Eels. He has always been a big time impactful player for the Eels. Moreover, since his return to the Eels, Dill has been red scorching hot. Tonight was no exception. In fact you could see the sheer determination written all over his face. He showed folks why he was recently a committed NCAA Div. 3 Buffalo State College commit.
Alex Caron in net also put on a nice show. He once again shined in his National appearance and looked the part as the league’s most respected goalie.
