Florida Eels Premier Team Advance To Semi Finals in Nationals

Eels Advance to Semi’s

The Florida Eels needed a win or tie to advance to the Semi Finals and that is what they did. They sealed their position with their 3-3 tie against the Minnesota Blue OX. They now move on to play tomorrow to play the winner of the D Pool. At this time, it still is undecided.

Today’s game against the Blue OX was not a cake walk. We hung in there in the 1st period, but they managed to score 1 on the Eels.  Then in the beginning of the 2nd period the OX scored again to gain a considerable margin over the Eels. But the Eels have been there before and knew how to come back. This is one of the most resilient teams in the USPHL and they proved it. They scored their 1st early and less than 2 minutes more the Eels stuck again. But the Ox would not quit, and they returned a goal minutes later to retake the lead.  Before the period closed out, the Eels  tied it up to make it 3-3.

Each team continued to push hard and unleashed shot after shot and went on the power play after power play, but the special teams were solid, and the 2 goalies put on a clinic blanking shooter after shooter.  The Eels had 30 shots on net compared to the Blue OX with 20 shots.

It was a solid effort by both teams and both coaches were especially proud of their players for reaching the Nationals and playing as hard and as well as they did.

Well guys it is up to you to win one more tomorrow to advance even further. We will take it one step at a time. One shift at a time. One Period of a time. One game at a time. GO EELS!!!!!
