Florida Eels Elite SWEEP Atlanta Mad Hatters in Two Game Series

After an impressive 4-2 win on Saturday evening, against the Atlanta Mad Hatters the Eels Elite team were revived and ready to come out strong in game two. Ethan Gabler made his Eels hockey debut in Sunday’s game and held the net strong! Gabler faced multiple shots from the Atlanta Mad Hatters but was able to maintain a zero-goal game-not only staring in his first Eels game but gaining a shutout as well.

The first period the Florid Eels and the Atlanta Mad Hatters battled back and forth to gain the first point of the game. It was Eels Dominck Dantona, assisted by Zayn Haddon-Harris and Jackson Carnes that grabbed the Eels first goal at 19:28 in the first. The Eels closed the period leading 1-0.

The Eels grabbed four goals in the second period of the game. At 6:34 Paxton Campbell grabbed his first goal of the game, assisted by Asher Hamlin. At 9:54 Ty Elzinga grabbed his first goal of the game, assisted by Spencer Hambling. At 11:08 Xavier Frazzari assisted by Zachary Bahret and Neil Hart grabbed the Eels fourth goal of the game. At 19:55 Tyson Gagnon assisted by Ty Elzinga grabbed goal five. At the close of the second period, the Eels lead 5-0 over the Atlanta Mad Hatters.

In the third period, the Eels continued to let steam out of their engines and continued to light the lamp along the way securing three more goals for the Eels. At 3:03, Dominick Dantona grabbed his second goal of the game assisted again by Zayn Haddon-Harris and Jackson Carnes. At 6:00 Ty Elzinga grabbed his second goal of the game and the Eels seventh goal, assisted by Paxton Campbell. At 9:18, Paxton Campbell grabbed his second goal and the Eels final goal of the game. The Eels closed the game winning 8-0 over the Atlanta Mad Hatters.

The Eels came out on fire and determined to secure their second win of the weekend. Their engines were rolling and they continued to pound away at the net, with an impressive 58 shots, dominating the offensive zone, and securing their defensive area. With Gabler as the backbone between the pipes- facing 23 shots-letting in zero, the Eels secured their second win, and second sweep against the Atlanta Mad Hatters this season. The Eels head back to Florida to train and prepare for their journey to the Mid-West later in the week where they will participate in the Fort Wayne Indiana Showcase!
