The Elite Team
Florida Eels Junior Hockey Elite team wins 2nd straight game at the USPHL showcase and this time they down Southern Rival the Hampton Road Whalers by a score 4-1
This comes after the Florida Eels handed the Northern Cyclones a 4-3 defeat Keep in
Mind how huge that win was for the Eels
This was only the 2nd loss of the season for the Cyclones an impressive record of 13-2
The Eels put 4 goals past them and they have one of the lowest GAA in the league
They are 1st in their very tough division
Hampton is equally strong ranked 6th in the entire league
And the Eels 2 wins comes after a very disappointing start in the showcase losing their 1st two games. The Eels first two losses hit them hard and for most teams they would have caved after such stinging losses
But GM Scarpaci says these losses build character it teaches our players to overcome adversity
It teaches them to have resolve and be more committed and determined
Yes many teams and most players take the wrong turn in the fork in the road when this happens back
But we work with our players to come together to fight harder in the proverbial fox hole
We take our hits and lumps and occasionally losses
But as I echo many times you learn more from our losses than wins
Wins are our goals but many times it comes with a consequence and that is you take wins for granted and become complacent
Not with the Eels
You need to do a heart check and decide we need to get to basics and win as unit and be selfless
I am extremely proud of my boys This is very exciting and a welcome turn around
This was not easy and we had a short time to get it together
