Eels to Play in Four Games: Friday-Monday

This weekend the Florida Eels Premier and Elite have 4 games each.  Yes 8 games in 4 days. It is considered the Florida Hockey Frenzy.  They each have one game on Friday  vs Tampa in Wesley Chapel and a 3-game stanza at home vs. the Jacksonville Battalion Saturday Sunday and Monday.   This is a potential 8 point spread.

On the Premier side of the equation Jacksonville is sitting there in 2nd place,  having played in 8 games thus far with 11 points and the Eels  Premier team sit in 3rd place with 8 points. The Tampa Juniors are in 1stplace with 16 points. However, Tampa has played 10 games whereas the Eels have only  played 5 games due to Hurricane delays. The Eels have an excellent opportunity to gain ground here and narrow the margin and climb in the standings.

The Eels and Jacksonville have created a nice rivalry since the Battalion  joined the league last season. The Eels have not played them this season and are really looking forward to this series. The original set of games had to be rescheduled as Hurricane Milton caused havoc in Florida.

The Eels Premier team is coming off a huge weekend winning the Florida Cup for its 3rd straight season. The players are starting to find themselves having had delays in their games due to the 2 hurricanes. No doubt they set their mark vs Palm Beach in game one of the Florida Cup with a huge win and then defeated Tampa in the Championship game in Sunday to win the Florida Cup. That game truly had the markings and trimmings of playoff type game. No doubt the Tampa Juniors was the best team we played this year and they have an incredibly talented team. That was a great game.

On the Elite side, the Eels are tied for 2nd place with Atlanta each having 8 points. However, the Eels have only played 6 games whereas the Madhatters have played 11 games. Jacksonville sits in 5th place with 4 points having played 8 games.  The Eels sit behind Tampa who have played in 10 games and enjoy a comfortable spread having 17 points. The Eels Elite team needs to take one game at a time. They have a huge one vs Tampa on Friday and the boys need to focus their attention one shift at a time and not look that far ahead. Like the Premier squad they have a 3-game series vs Jacksonville. One  cardinal rule the Eels need to understand is  not to look too far ahead and not take the Jacksonville  for granted. That is a trap many players and teams fall into. Any team can truly beat any team in our Division.

One thing for sure is both Eels teams have quite a bit of hockey this weekend, A total of 8 games and yes it will be a “Hockey Frenzy”.  Our guys are ready. We feel we  are the most conditioned program and are up for the task. Now is the time to execute.
