Congrats Goes Out to The Florida Eels Elite Team Finishing in Second Place in the Florida Division.
What an Incredible Season. This team has grown so much from its training camp in August. We have seen a team develop and mature from 28 individuals to a team. A solid group of boys who have grown into men. This is a unit that will rival any other Elite team in the USPHL and as good as a team as many Premier teams. It all started at training camp. Twenty-one days of the most grueling training 4-5 hours per day. Then we faced adversity overcoming the ever present Covid 19 threat and the ordeals of daily well-ness checks 10+ Covid test, and all the precautions that confronted us.
We had a tough schedule traveling to Atlanta twice and then to Charleston SC and 9 games in the HUB City. When other leagues and programs were on pause or canceled, we preserved. We played so many teams from Northeast, including New York, New Jersey New Hampshire and Massachusetts . Our guys learned what is the Next Level. Our players were from all across the USA Canada and Europe. These were and are bonds they will have for life. There is a certain uniqueness and mystique playing for the Eels. We integrate not just a USA Style of juniors but one that incorporates Western Canadian and Eastern Canadian play along with those from Western Europe and Russia.
Our focus from the very beginning was not to dwell on first or second place in the Florida Division. It was to focus on Player Development. The coaching staff wanted to make sure that we had 4 full lines of forwards and defense and solid goaltending across the team that would allow us to compete with and against any team in the Elite Division. We feel really good in what we have. Look at how we played in the last 2 months. We went 6-3 at the Hub City. We won some key games at the USPHL Showcase in Charleston SC. We took the Tampa Juniors to over time and time again and we were the first team to defeat the Tampa Juniors and snaped their undefeated streak. And most impressively we defeated them this past weekend to the capture the momentum going into the Playoffs.
Our guys are poised and ready for the Playoffs. They are some of the most dedicated and determined boys who ever played for the Eels. Each one of them feeds off one another. They demonstrate the unwavering commitment to advance to Nationals. They have shown us not simply by lip service but by their actions their commitment and will to win. They not only have been very prepared on the ice and in the gym, but they are dialed in on video and mentally set to take on Charleston. Way to go guys we are proud of everyone who sported an Eels Elite jersey this season as you all have had an integral part in the Elite team’s success
