Florida Eels Elite Players Making Their Mark in the USPHL Division Stats Page.

Assistant Captain showing his leadership is Kaleb Harrob who sits at 3rd in overall Elite Division league scoring with 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points. In 5th place in the league stats and leading all Divisional Rookies is Anthony Zebley with 11 goals and 17 assists.  In the 16th spot is team Captain Landen Engles with 7 goals and 13 assists. And holding on strong on the 20th spot is Eels rookie defensemen and assistant Captain Ryan Chambre. Ryan is 6th overall in all league Elite rookies.  Veteran Matt Clift is close in the running at 23rd overall with 17 points 2 goals and 15 assists and rookie Mathieu Rioux is 35th with 6 goals and 9 assists.

This is a well-balanced squad, with 6 players with double digits  and it is especially impressive we have so many guys involved in the team’s scoring. The fact that we have 3 rookies leading the way shows our depth and confidence in all of our players and is indicative of our player development model.

Eels High Octane Offense Getting Keen Eye From College Coaches.

GM Frank Scarpaci echoes that his phone has been burning up from College Coaches who have taken notice of our forwards who have been lighting the lamp. Look at the likes of Demeed Podrezov who is leading the league in Points Per Game. 2.32. In 19 Games he has 15 goals and 29 assists for 44 points. 3 others players in t.he league have more points but they have over 4 games played.  No doubt he is one of the league’s most talented and gifted players. Moreover, despite his offensive accomplishments, he is equally effective in the D zone. He simply suffocates his opponents and repeatedly thaws their attack with his tenacious back checking.

Also on the hit parade are TJ Zebley, (32 pts)  Gage Dill  (29 pts)  Tristan Roost (26 pts) and Jake Court ( 22 pts) And Taurin Haddon- Harris has been on his own tear right now with only 10 games played and he has 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points average 1.40 points per game. These guys men amongst boys. They are key standouts whenever they are on the ice. Completely dominate. Each can thread the needle. They have the insatiable appetite to score. They are consummate competitors with unwavering commitment to win.

This is a high octane team and these guys ignite the offense and are opening eyes of many college coaches and recruiters.

USPHL Elite Players Of The Week: South Region

Week of Dec. 12, 2020

By USPHL Staff

Southeast Division
Forward: Michael Miller, Charlotte Rush
The local Charlotte product picked up three goals and one assist in a single game against Charleston, helping key a weekend sweep. Miller has swung between the Premier and Elite teams this season as a second-year Rush.

Defense: Kameron Williams, Richmond Generals
The Generals went 2-1 in their tight weekend series with Peninsula rivals the Whalers, and Williams was in on both the offense (1-2-3 line for the three games) plus keeping the Whalers to six goals in three games.

Goaltender: Jacob Sanders, Potomac Patriots
Unfortunately for Sanders (‘02/Spring Hill, Va.), the Pats did not pick up a victory against the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, but he kept the Patriots in every one of three close matches, including a Dec. 3 OT loss. The Jr. Canes scored a total of just five goals on 104 shots, giving Sanders a .943 save percentage for the weekend.

Florida Division
Forward: Landon Engles, Florida Eels
Engles (‘03/Sioux Falls, S.D.) posted a pair of goals and assists for four points in pushing the Eels to a close weekend sweep against the powerhouse Juniors to start December. Engles has now moved to a 7-13-20 line for 15 games.

Defense: Vince Cartier, Florida Eels
The ‘04 out of Drummondville, Que., took a move to a different country – and vastly different climate – to perfect his game with the Eels, and has progressed very well early on. He scored two goals in the Eels’ win over the Juniors.

Goaltender: Nate Flores, Charleston Colonials
Flores stopped 40 of 44 shots for the Colonials in a knock-down drag-out battle with Charlotte on Dec. 6. Though the Rush ended up coming out with the 4-1 victory, the ‘02 from Cave Creek, Ariz., is certainly rounding into form. He had also given up just one goal in 15 minutes of work against a strong Carolina team in November.

Elite Team Wins 2nd in OT Sweeping the Natters in Weekend Away Games

Andrew Gets The OT Win in Net!!!!!!!!!!

The Elite team win in OT over Atlanta to make it a weekend sweep over the Natters. On Friday the Elite team took it to a shootout to bring home the win. Last night the Elite team again came from behind 2-1 to tie it up and with seconds remaining on the 3 on 3 Five-minute OT period the Eels threaded the needle and scored. This was a very exciting pair of games for the Eels as they swept the Madhatters at their barn.

The last time the Eels came to Atlanta they went 1-1-1. This time they won the pair and consequentially gave themselves a little more breathing room between them and Atlanta in the standings. The Eels had gone into the weekend in 2nd, but the Hatters were on their heels in 3rd.
The Eels Elite came away very excited with this win. They now will focus on their upcoming 4 games at the USPHL December Showcase at Hertz Arena. As the coaches said enjoy this feeling. But now attention has to be shifted to the task ahead of them. The 4 games in the Showcase. Training restarts on Monday with a needed Sunday off from the long road trip and a pair of grueling games.

Eels Premier Team Win Their 2nd Game 5-2 To Sweep The Madhatters in Weekend Double Header

Liam Was Solid in Net For Both Games!!!!!!!!!!

The Eels Premier team continue their dominance over the Natters with their 2nd win of the weekend by a score of 5-2. On Friday the Eels scored 7 goals making it a solid 12 goal performance over Atlanta in the two games and only allowing a stingy 2 in each of the two games for a +8 on the weekend set. The Eels Premier team take no team for granted and did not take the Natters lightly. The game plan never changes no matter who the opponent is. This is the same Natters team that swept the Tampa Juniors a few weeks ago in 3 games in Tampa. They are a solid team with very good coaches. The Eels kept to their style of play and don’t deviate. It is a full all-out attack with one key concept. Defense First.

The Eels arrived early this morning and will be back at it first thing Monday. They will enjoy their win today, but it is a return to business Monday with their focus on the upcoming USPHL December Showcase that starts this upcoming Friday at Hertz Arena.
It was a solid performance for the entire Eels organization as both teams swept the weekend games.

Florida Eels Elite Team With Dramatic Comeback Wins in Shoot Out Over the Hatters

In game one of the weekend double header between the Eels and Atlanta  Madhatters, the Eels went down in the 1st 2 periods of play 2-0 and the Hatters were not showing any signs of easing up. The Eels coaches juggled the lines and re-grouped in between the 2nd and 3rd period and the Eels came storming back to tie things all up 2-2.

With only minutes remaining in the game the Hatters made another surge to gain the lead but the Eels learning from their mistakes vs the Tampa Juniors, suffocated the Hatters and thawed their efforts to take the lead. The Eels sent this in to OT and for 5 minutes both teams pushed hard up and down the ice 3 on 3 but neither scored and the game remained tied 2-2 forcing it from regular OT to a shootout.

Each team went back and forth shooter after shooter but then the Eels snipers took control and the Eels put this one to rest winning it big time capturing  2 points while the Hatters earned 1 from the OTL

The two squads square off once again Saturday at 4:45 pm to wrap up the weekend pair of games between the two Elite teams. The Eels were excited to garner the 2 points with this win and hope to further extend some day light tomorrow  if they sweep the games.

USPHL Hub City – This Is What Forward Thinking Looks Like

This is the most forward thinking plan any league has put forth thus far at the junior level. Anyone being critical of this plan simply doesn’t know the details.

USPHL Hub City – This Is What Forward Thinking Looks Like

5 days ago  Admin

Last week, the USPHL announced plans for a “Hub City” in Florida. The plan calls for teams to play as many games as possible in approximately six weeks time.

Bubbles work. The NHL used a bubble and it worked to finish last season. Several teams in North America are using housing bubbles with great success this season as well. My team in Poland has used a player housing bubble since August and we have had zero issues thus far.

The teams, and programs who are experiencing stops and extended delays in their seasons are experiencing them because of the continued use of billet families.

The billet family is a traditional and very important part of a normal junior hockey season. This is not a normal junior hockey season.

Looking at the USPHL plan using a gated community with all of the amenities any athlete could hope for is looking at what should be a model for everyone until the pandemic ends.

The USPHL plan includes testing and specific isolation housing for players who test positive for COVID.

This is the most forward thinking plan any league has put forth thus far at the junior level. Anyone being critical of this plan simply doesn’t know the details.

Anyone saying NCDC players are now having to pay thousands of dollars in additional costs simply does not know the plan and does not have access to information.

NCDC players are paying for their housing and meals in Florida. No differently than they pay for them in the team’s home city.

Those USPHL teams going to the Florida Hub will continue to collect tuition as they always do along with the players housing fee’s. No differently than players paying in the team’s home city.

Instead of taking shots at the USPHL for moving to Florida for a few weeks, everyone should be asking themselves why their league has not done something like this. Or maybe you all enjoy having your season stopped and restarted once a month?
