The Eels Premier Team Advance to the Quarter Finals at Ntionals

The Eels Premier team defeated the Hudson Havoc in game 3 of the round robin at Nationals. That meant the Eels went 2-1 in the round robin and finished 2nd seed overall in pool B. The Havoc was a pretty strong club out west defeating the first place Wisconsin River-kings to get to Nationals. The Eels brought them down scoring 6 unanswered goals winning 6-0

Today the Eels take on the Charlotte Rush the defending National Champs. Last year at Nationals it was all Eels vs the Rush in the final game. The Rush tipped the Eels and went on to win the crown. This season the Eels wanted so bad to have another bite at the Rush and the Nationals. Well we finished First place in the tough Florida Division, won the playoffs and thus advanced to Nationals. The Eels have a number of guys who were here last year and a number of new comers. Regardless we all know and appreciate the intense rivalry here. It is a good one A healthy one One that brings out the best in both teams.

Last night with the win over the Havoc we earned the right to advance to the Quarter Finals and ironically face our Southeast Rivals the Rush. The drama has been set and the boys are ready as i am sure the Rush are as well. These are two amongst the best in our league. No doubt this will be a great game

Good luck guys Go Eels

Florida Eels Premier Team Defeats Midwest East Divisional Champs the Cougars in Game One of the Nationals
Gage Dill Scores A Pair To Lead The Eels to Victory

The Eels squared off against the Chicago Cougars who are the MidWest East Champions. This was a nice matchup as both the Eels and the Cougars finished in First Place in the Regular season and were the Champions in their respective playoffs.

The Eels got the best of the Cougars outshooting them 49-19  indeed,  an impressive  2-1 margin in the contest. The Eels equally dominated zone time and smothered the Cougars on the fore-check and doubling down suffocating them in the D Zone.  To say the Eels came out hitting would be the understatement of the year. The Eels played a very physical game and wore the Cougars down.  The Eels used their size to their advantage throughout all 3 periods.

The Eels took the lead early and maintained it throughout the game.  In fact the Cougars netminder played a solid game and held the score to 4 against. He played a solid game against the Eels – who are one of the most potent offense in the league.

Eels veteran  forward Gage Dill however, could not be contained – he  scored a pair of big goals  for the Eels. Dill has done this throughout his tenure with the Eels. He has always been a big time impactful player for the Eels.  Moreover, since his return to the Eels, Dill has been red scorching hot. Tonight was no exception. In fact you could see the sheer determination written all over his face. He showed folks why he was recently a committed NCAA Div. 3 Buffalo State College commit.

Alex Caron in net also put on a nice show. He once again shined in his National appearance and looked the part as the league’s most respected goalie.

Florida Eels Elite Dismantle the Rocket’s Hockey Club in Game One of the Nationals

Florida Eels Elite Dismantle the Rocket’s Hockey Club in Game One of the Nationals

24 Mar by Frank Scarpaci

The Eels Elite team showed why they have gone 22 straight games with out a loss, why they have 14 shutouts on the season and finished tied overall in the USPHL Elite Conference for 1st place overall in the league and won the Florida Division. They pounded over 40 shots on net against the Rockets and blanked the Rockets offensively. The Eels smothered the Rockets offense and suffocated them on defense.
The Eels take an important 3 points in the standings. Friday we play game 2 at 8:00 am vs the Richmond Generals.

Florida Eels PremierTeam Finishes 13th Nationally and 3rd Overall amongst the USPHL under My Hockey Rankings

The Eels Premier team finishes the season ranked 13th overall by My Hockey Rankings and 3rd in the USPHL under the rankings. No doubt if the Eels played some of those teams outside of the USPHL the Eels would have moved up the latter. But we can only speculate as there is no cross over amongst the leagues. The Eels played some pretty tough opponents and would no doubt put many of those teams to task.

Additionally, the Elite team finished ahead in the rankings than a dozen Premier teams. The Elite team is very strong and would take many of those teams to task as well as top many NA3 and EHL teams

The Florida Eels Gage Dill Commits To NCAA Division 3 Buffalo State College

The Florida Eels Gage Dill Commits To NCAA Division 3 Buffalo State College

The Florida Eels are thrilled to announce that 2001 forward Gage Dill has committed to NCAA Div. 3 Buffalo State College for the 2022-23 season. Dill’s commitment is the Eels’ 301st player to advance on to college. Gage has been a phenomenal player for the Eels in his junior hockey career. He is an extremely gifted player. He is an excellent skater with stealth like moves. He is slippery and very difficult to play against. A natural goal scorer soft hands with peripheral vision.  In his 4 year 124 game tenure with the Eels he scored 92 goals and 154 assists for 246 points averaging 2 points per game. Equally amazing is he had only 64 minutes in penalties during that time frame. This is quite impressive.

Gage had many options available to him. He took a long time to consider the schools who recruited him but, in the end, he felt Buffalo State College was simply the right choice for him. The academics, the campus, and the hockey program. He is very excited about playing for Coach Steve Murphy and his coaching staff. They always made him feel welcome and very interested in Dill. The Eels have had several players who committed to BSC in the past and currently have 2 Eels alumni who are on the BSC roster.

BSC is getting a great individual apart from hockey. He is a high character person. Comes from a loving and supportive family. We are all very proud of Gage and his accomplishments and wish him the best on his next journey not only in hockey but as a college student and in life. He is heading to Nationals this week enroute to win a National Championship. Good luck Gage

USPHL Elite National Championships Presented By GMU Sport Team Preview: Florida Eels

USPHL Elite National Championships Presented By GMU Sport Team Preview: Florida Eels

By The Dan K Show / USPHL.com , 03/16/22, 8:45PM EDT

They say “defense wins championships,” and the Florida Eels Elite side brings plenty of defense with them to the USPHL National Championships Presented by GMU Sport.

This season, the Eels have won via the shutout 13 different times with netminders Jacob Mork and Matthew Shoer leading the way – and boy did they ever, finishing 1-2 in every major goaltending category in the Elite. Not surprisingly, the Eels also finished with the No. 1 overall seed in the entire USPHL Elite postseason.

Owner/GM Frank Scarpaci discussed the youth amongst his Elite roster with the team boasting 18 rookies this season. With this youthful exuberance comes speed, skill and a surprising ability to avoid taking penalties, a problem that plagues many young squads.

“We have a young team, so we preach to the boys all the time about not getting too excited,” said Scarpaci. “We will be working on the penalty kill and power play leading up to Nationals. As we all know, games against good teams are usually decided on special teams.”

You would think leading into the USPHL National Championships that the Eels would be all business, but Frank Scarpaci and his staff believe in keeping the boys loose and having fun even this time of year.

“Team dinners, volleyball, board games, movie nights – whatever we can do to not overly tax our guys leading up to Nationals, we are going to do,” Scarpaci added.

After a dominating season for the Florida Eels Elite which leaves them on the precipice of a Championship run, the organization was sure to remind us of the true victory to be had in Junior Hockey.

“Our DNA is in the 300+ advancements for our players in our existence. That is why we exist, that is why we have our program,” said Frank Scarpaci.  “The Eels are sure to continue that advancement success with both their squads at the Elite and Premier advancing to Nationals.”

As an organization that has seen a multitude of players from Ukraine take the ice in the Eels Green, Black and Yellow, Frank Scarpaci and his entire organization wanted to ensure they made their support for all in Ukraine known.

“The team, the players, the coaches, everyone reaches out to our former players back in the Ukraine at home every chance they get,” said Scarpaci. “This won’t win us hockey games, but there are more important things going on in the world and this team gets it.”

The Florida Eels Elite Team Heading to Nationals.

21 games straight without a loss

The Florida Eels Elite Team sweep the Atlanta Madhatters at the USPHL Florida Division playoffs. The Eels scored 21 goals this past weekend. 13-0 and 8-0 in the 2 games played. They have gone 21 straight games without a loss. This team is on an incredible run. 13 shutouts this season. The Elite team will join the Premier team this year at Nationals. It is an incredible accomplishment for the Eels  organization to have not one but two of its teams advance to the Nationals. We are all extremely proud of our players who have worked so hard all season long.

These boys have shown what hard work will do. They captured first place over all in their Florida Division and are tied with First Place in the entire Elite Conference. Now they showed how good they are in the playoff round.

The schedule for National swill be published shortly.

The Florida Eels Premier Team Heading To Nationals

The Florida Eels Junior Hockey Premier team swept the Atlanta Madhatters in their best 2 out of 3 weekend series. The Eels won game one 6-3 and game two 7-5. The Eels won the regualr season title finishing in Firts Place in the Florida Division and now captured the title in the USPHL Florida Division playoffs. The Eels now head to Nationals. The Eels are one of the very few organizations who have steadily advance to Nationals for well over a decade. Moreover, the Eels Elite team also won their series also against the Madhatters Elite team This makes the Eels very unique in having both teams capturing First Place in teh Regular season, First Place in the Playoffs and both advancing to the Nationals.

We are very proud of our players for the outstanding job in the playoffs and the regular season play.

Florida Eels Elite Stunned the Madhatters 13-0 in Game One of the Playoffs.

The Eels Won their 20th straight game this season.

The Florida Eels Junior Hockey Elite team defeated the Atlanta Madhatters in game one of the USPHL Florida Division playoffs 13-0. The Eels took charge from the drop of the puck until the final second of the game. The boys came out on fire. They had the extra step in their stride. They outshot the Madhhaters by a 2-1 margin. Mathew Schoer did what he does best. Clase the door and deliver a shutout. He has over a 1.//2 dozen this season. Everyone in the building witnessed the skill set of this team. They are so deep in talent. There is very liitle difference between line 1.2,3 or 4. The same is true with the defensive pairing. When Atlanta tuned up the hitting, the Eels matched it in kind and infact were overwhelming against the Madhatters. Indeed, the Eels combined a smothering fore-check with its suffocating back checking to completely thaw any sustainable attack.

This was a huge win for the Florida Eels Junior Hockey Elite team. But it was just that. A win. The coaches reminded all of its players that we need another strong and convincing win on Sunday to reach out mission. We need two wins to advance to Nationals. Ww know Atlanta is a tough team and they won’t siply go away disappear or quit. They will in all probability bring out everything. Leave nothing for chance. They know their backs are against the wall so to speak. This is a team that is hungry and needs to win.

So we can expect a great game. Again, a win by the Eels, it is all over. The Eels advance. If the Madhatters win the series goes to a game 3 Monday.

We hope you can join us live in Tampa or on Hockey TV 10:30 am drop of puck.
