Eels Premier and Elite teams heading to Hampton Roads VA for the USPHL South East Showcase

Our 1st Showcase of the season

This week our boys travel to Hampton Roads Va to compete in the USPHL South East Showcase. This is very exciting for all the boys. Many of the guys have not competed in a USPHL Showcase. There our players will play in 4 games against teams from the Southeast Division and some teams from the Northeast and Midwest.

This is a very competitive environment. There will be a number of college coaches, scouts and recruiters at the venue. The Eels just came off a 3 game weekend home-stand against the Madhatters and faired very well winning all 6 games. However, we will see 4 different teams many of which that are  amongst the best in the entire USPHL

Our guys are ready. Determined as ever, focused and dialed in.

The schedule for both the Elite and Premier teams is on line.

The Florida Eels Premier Team Swept the Madhatters in their 3 Game Home Opener.

17 GF 7 GA It tells the story

The Eels  Premier team came out on fire this past weekend with a scorching 19 goal onslaught against the Atlanta Madhatters in the Eels home opener. A 3 game homestead. .

The Eels Premier team showed why they underwent 28 days of training;  what 5-7 hours  per day of ice,  off-ice,  gym,  video sessions and 3 scrimmages proved.

These boys were dialed in and were as determined and dedicated as ever. GM Scarpaci echoed I want them November ready in September. And that is what they were

Head Coach Frankie Scarpaci expects a lot from his players. It is not easy to play for the Eels. And many players cannot handle to task handed to them. But the guys that are here can. They are hungry as ever and came out in their first trilogy of games to show the league they are the team to be reckoned with.  They have size, speed, experience and heart. This is an organization with a rich and storied legacy and the new and old want to mark their place in Eels history

cannot The smothering forecheck and relentless back check. experience Look at the goals against :7 in 3 games this early in the season.

Great job guys

Florida Eels Elite Team Sweep the Atlanta Madhatters in their 3 Game Home Opener

Eels swept the Madhatters in their 3 game home opener

The Eels Elite team swept the Madhatters in their home openers. The Eels faced the Hatters in a 3 game home stand for the home openers last weekend at the Fort Myers Skatium. The Eels Elite players have been training for the past 28 days 5+ hours per day. This is unprecedented in junior hockey. The boys faced off in 3 scrimmage games over the 4 week period and no doubt the intense training paid off with huge dividends.

Atlanta had planned to spoil the Eels home opener with wins under their belt but the Eels said NO. You could see there was a marked difference in play between the two squads. The Eels Elite team were that much faster, quicker on the decision making, more proficient in net and the attack by the Eels was relentless. The Eels conditioning was equally evident and the 3 games were a toll on both teams but was quite daunting on the Hatters.

The Eels Elite out gunned the Hatters 17-11 in the 3 games.

Congrats guys you earned the 6 points on the Weekend

Florida Eels Premier Team Dinner at Hooters

Hooters A Staple Supporter of the Eels

Today the Eels Premier team had their team dinner at Hooters

The guys got eat some great wings watch some ESPN and other sports and just relaxing

Boys have worked very hard over the past 4 weeks in preparation of this weekend’s Home Opener vs the Madhatters

Come Join us this Weekend for the Eels Home Opener Florida Eels vs the Atlanta Madhatters

Well the Eels open their season this week with a huge 6 game series vs the Maddhatters. Three games for the Premier and 3 for the Elite teams. Saturday Sunday and a rare Monday pair of games. The Eels over the past several seasons have dominated the Hatters in the regular season and in playoffs. But that was then….. In junior hockey 50% of the rosters change every year. For the Eels that is once again true. The Eels recruit globally, and our rosters have always reflect an international flair to it. Take a look at our rosters and once again you will see so many new and returning players. That is the great thing about playing for the Eels is that our guys are truly from across the Globe. Slovakia Sweden Austria Latvia Russia the many Provinces of Canada be it Quebec Ontario British Columbia Edmonton Calgary Vancouver and across the USA.

We don’t know what Atlanta brings to the table yet. We see they have been active and we are so much looking forward for the games to begin. One thing you can count on is that both teams bring their A game. Both are very excited and looking to show case their players. These two programs are very proud and wont disappoint their fans. In the past the rivalry has been  great. The two programs have had had some very spirited games and we expect the same this year as well.  The Eels are taking these games very seriously and not sitting on any past accomplishments.

One thing for sure we don’t concern ourselves with what is out of our control We can only worry about what we can control.  What we have done is exactly what we have done year in and year out over the last decade. Training camp for 4 weeks. Daily training for 5-6 hours each day 7 days per week over this period. ½ dozen scrimmages during this time period. A commitment by the boys to the 3 D’s

Determination, dedication, and discipline. This has been the Eels’ hallmark year in and year out. We still are learning our boys and our players are learning our systems. This is akin to building a major commercial building. The architecture is the recruiting process. Now we are in the construction phase. Sure, every player is a key element and piece of the mosaic. But unlike inanimate objects we are dealing with young men. All who we treat different, and development takes time depending on the player.  But this is what our Eels coaches do so well/. This is not hype the proof has been evident every year for well over a decade.

This weekend is important for us. Every game every weekend for that matter is important for us. But we do not put too much stock in this weekend as being dispositive. No! We will adjust and work out the kinks. This is part of the process. Our coaches will continue to analyze and readjust as will our players on both teams., In fact right after the 3 game series our teams must get ready for their 1st showcase in Norfolk VA. Yes, 7 games in such a short period of time. WE do feel confident in our program and preach to the boys “trust the process, “ It is a long season. It is not a sprint so to speak it truly is a marathon.
