In game Three of the Weekend, the Elite team were Short Ended by the Madhatters in OT Shoot Out

The Elite team having dropped the Mad Hatters in their 1st two games of the  weekend were upended in their final contest with a 4-3 shutout loss.  We had a great weekend winning game 1 and 2. Moreover we were successful after out 13 hour trip up with the bus breaking down. The boys came out on fire.

But it is very difficult to win 3 straight games against the same team. The guys just came up a bit short in capturing the win in OT and in the shoot out. Our guys had to make some adjustments as well in game 3 as two of our top scorers moved up to assist the Premier team with the 1/2 dozen injuries. But with that being said it game many guys the opportunity to stop up.

The guys are preparing for this Sunday’s game vs Palm Beach

The guys returned home Monday night arriving around 10 pm

Florida Eels Elite team Defeats Mad Hatters 4-1 in Game Two of its 3 Game Weekend Series

The Eels Elite team brought a full court press so to speak to the Mad Hatters on Sunday evening. No doubt they brought their A game,. They clearly outshot the Mad Hatters, out skated them, out hit them and as the scoreboard reflects, out scored them 4-1. This was not a cake walk. The Atlanta players came out hard and laid everything to the ice. This was a clean fought battle but the Eels training and intensity was just too overwhelming for the Mad Hatters Elite.

Anyone watching the game clearly saw how the Eels back checking simply stripped them of the puck and smothered them in the D Zone., When it came to fore-checking, the Eels dominated puck retrieval and capturing puck possession.

The Eels goaltending was nothing short of sensational.

On Monday the Eels are looking for a 3 game sweep. Great job boys

Florida Eels Premier Team Fall to the Mad Hatters 5-3 in Game Two of Weekend Series

After a successful day one of the weekend 3 game series the Eels Premier team dropped game two by a score of 5-3. The Eels suffering with 5 players on the injured list were not able to kick start a sustainable offense. They also stalled defensively creating a dual void in the game plan. A disappointing result indeed.

No doubt tonight the Premier coaches will make some key changes in preparation of Monday’s 3rd game of the weekend. The key here is to ignite an accelerant that will spark the Premier team back on track. Equally important is the rekindle its smothering defense that shuts down and suffocates the Mad Hatters offense.

The Mad Hatters players were excited to have avenged their loss of Friday’s game. These two teams brought every ounce of energies to both games and to say they were spent is the understatement of the year. The Eels will be looking to rebound and bring everything to the Ice House Monday at noon

The Florida Eels Premier team Spoils the Madhatters Home Opener with a 4-3 Shootout Win in game one of the 3 game weekend trilogy

A Hard Leason Here: Never Count the Eels Out

In what may possibly be one of the Eels most dramatic comeback wins ever, the Eels stole the win right out of the clenches from the Atlanta Madhatters Premier squad. The Eels spotted the Madhatters a 3-goal lead right into the 10 minute mark of the 3rd period when Braeden Bzovey scored his 3rd of the season to narrow the margin 3-1. Then an Atlanta played got called for a 5 minute major which allowed the Eels to go on a major power play. As the Madhatters remarked in the very beginning of the game, if Atlanta had any hopes of winning, the head to stay out of the penalty box. He concluded, the Eels power play has been so dominating over the past 5-6 years it ought to be considered illegal. Well, the Eels got things going and Collin Patterson scored his 9th and 10th of the season to completely tie things up.

Then the game went into OT and the 3 on 3 did not settle the match and the contest went to a shootout. There Kayde Budgell and Collin Patterson scored (hat trick) and the Eels notched their 10th win of the season and spread their lead over the Tampa Juniors to two points and a 8 point lead over the Jr Blades and the Palm Beach Typhoon. The Madhatters are at the bottom of the Florida Division with only 9 points. This was a strong win for the Eels as they had push hard with their travel to Atlanta, and experiencing 4 injuries on their team. It had to be frustrating for the Madhatters having gone on to a 3-goal lead and playing what one might consider their best game of the season and ending up on the wrong side of in the win column.

Eels ace netminder Duncan Rollemen was stella in net closing down hatch for another big win for him

These same two squads face-off Sunday at 3:00 pm once again and then once again on Monday at noon. The Eels know enough not to take any team in their Division lightly or for granted. Atlanta knows too well you cannot count the Eels out ever. Not even in the final minutes or seconds of a game.

Eels Elite Also Spoil Home Opener for the Mad Hatters

OT Come back earns Eels a huge win.
The Florida Eels Elite Team Outgun the Madhatters in a 4-3 Shootout Win

The Eels Elite team had to face a bit of adversity going into today’s game having travelled 10 hours from Fort Myers, its bus breaking down for 3+ hours and having very little time to re-group and collect its composure. But those challenges proved trivial as they took the ice at 6:00 pm and stormed to a 3-1 lead going into the 3rdperiod. Big goals were notched by Godbout and two from Di Re. But they were feeling the wear by the 3rdperiod and Atlanta managed to score 2 more times to tie the game up forcing it into OT and a shootout. The Eels somehow got a 2nd wind and came alive scoring 3 big ones in the shootout and putting this one to rest. Nathan Haas was solid in net for the Eels Elite team taking control in net to lock down the hatch, This was Nate’s 4th win of the season.

The win gives the Eels their 10th win of the season for 20 points – sitting in 2nd place in the standings – just one point under Tampa.

The scoring was a s follows:

Florida Eels Looking To Spoil Madhatters Home Opener

Eels Very Excited About Upcoming Weekend
The Florida Eels are looking to spoil the Madhatter’s home openers for their Elite and Premier teams. The Eels have not taken the Madhatter’s for granted. The record between the two clubs thus far is 3-0 Eels Premier and 3-0 Eels Elite team. Both Eels teams top their respective standings. But for the Eels players and coaches that is in the past and irrelevant as far as this weekend series of games. Any team can beat any team in the Florida Division on any given night. Atlanta always plays the Eels tough. On a regular weekend we play two games, and it is very difficult to sweep a two game series, but this weekend, the matches are even more difficult as the two organizations are playing a trilogy of games in each Division. Yes 3 games each, and sweeping a 3-game series is a herculean task.

The Eels do not look at it as a 3-game series, however. They take it one game at a time. One shift, one period, each powerplay, each penalty kill as it comes. We train harder and longer than any team in this league: 4+ hours per day. Our conditioning, both on ice and off ice is well known throughout junior hockey and that is what we bank on. We also take no team for granted. We breakdown each and every element of the opposing squad throughout out prep week and plan accordingly. We also examine and reexamine our own games from previous weeks and see where we can improve and tweak our performances. Moreover, we are very unpredictable. Our plays, systems and pics are very fluent and difficult for other teams to capture.

Our teams are a very tight knit group of guys. They have the appetite and drive to lay everything on the line each time they hit the ice. It is not about them individually. It is about the team. Individual stats are secondary. The players understand those stats don’t win your Division, the playoffs or advance to Nationals. This goal, this mission consequently resonates our play to the highest compete level. That infamous “Next Level” of play College coaches look for in players. We are hell bent on keeping our eyes on the big package. Yet, despite the tremendous demand and high expectations placed on our players, they truly have the best time and most fun. Our culture is engrained in our DNA. We very much look forward to our trip to Atlanta and the games ahead of us. The Eels are looking to spoil the Madhatter’s’ home openers and do what they do best. So, Eels fans if you can make it we love to see you there. Otherwise, the games will be streamed live on HockeyTV

Eels Premier Team Take Back Win on Sunday 4-3 over the Tampa Juniors

Eels Premier team still holding a strong lead in 1st place in the Florida Division

Well this weekend was a lively set of games between the Tampa Juniors and Eels . The two teams exchanged a pair of home and away games and these games came right down to the final buzzer. On Friday Tampa at home defeated the Eels in what many considered an upset win. Not the Eels players or coaches. Tampa is a solid squad and every game will be played hard each and every shift each and every period. You cannot take them for granted.

Well Sunday was a lot more of the same. Each line each defensive pairing and both netminders battled every second of that game. The Eels however were not to be denied. They elevated their game to even greater heights and proved too strong for their cross state rivals. In the end the Eels were victorious and defeated Tampa 4-3.

Eels Teams Return back to the Fort Myers Skatium for Homestand Against the Tampa Juniors

Eels Looking to Avenge Losses of Friday Night

The Eels Premier and Elite teams host the Tampa Juniors Sunday and are looking to avenge their losses of Friday night in Tampa. Both Eels teams lost by the same score 5-2. These were disappointing games to say the least. No excuses. Players learn twice as much from losses than wins. We handedly defeated both of the Tampa teams last week at the Florida Cup. But came up shy this past weekend. No doubt the Eels coaches and players re-grouped and examined why? And How? What went wrong? What were the hiccups? This is how you adjust. You learn from it and build off it.

Well the Elite kick off at 11:00 am and the Premier at 1:30 or immediately after the Elite game. Besure to join us live at the Fort Myers Skatium or on Hockey TV

Key out of two games this weekend: Palm Beach Typhoon Premier team defeated the Atlanta Madhatters in their 1st two games of the weekend series. The Palm Beach Elite team handed the Madhatters another loss. So expect some movement in the overall standings for Florida.
