Eels Premier Team Unleash 7 Goals To Take Down Cross Town Rivals the Jr Blades

The Eels Premier team continues its winning ways : making  it 6 in a row as they unleash their high octane scoring in their midweek game against the Jr Blades. They are quite impressive in their offensive attack cross the entire state of Florida, as they brought down Tampa twice with 9 goals, the Palm Beach Typhoon with 10 and now the Jr Blades with 7 yesterday and a 6-0 shutout a few weeks ago. Make no mistake, this Blades team, as with the Tampa Juniors and the Typhoon are all solid clubs. But the Eels simply suffocate their attack and smothers their efforts. The Eels Premier team is at another level. And they believe in themselves. When you combine skill and confidence it makes for a winning formula

What is most impressive is they are not sacrificing defense for offense. Yesterday they turned away all but one goal, and they are averaging 2 against per game. Their overall play is nothing short of phenomenal. Their decision making spot on, their passing crisp and keenly accurate, their shots lethal. So many weapons regardless of the opponents.

They can play any style, be-it battling along the wall, in the trenches in front of the crease or a high flying aerial attack. These boys have bought in and are a mission. No doubt they are looking forward to the showcase games ahead of us this weekend. Games against our sister teams in the Southeast have always been extremely competitive and lively. The boys are looking forward to it

Florida Eels Alumni Crossley Stewart Commits to NCAA Div. I RIT

The Florida Eels are thrilled to announce that Crossley Stewart has committed to NCAA Division 1 RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). Crossley stands at 6’3” 190 lbs. and is a defenseman out of Prince Rupert, BC, CAN. He was a major impact player on the Eels Premier team. As a defenseman Crossley owned the defensive zone. A very smart player who had a high hockey IQ. Moreover, he was a never-ending offensive threat.  While playing for the Eels, Stewart averaged close to a point per game. Opposing teams knew he could turn on the jets and drive to the net. He often skated by opposing forwards and defensemen like pylons.

Crossley was very creative; had a high skill; and at 6’3” he used his body to his advantage. In 2020-21 he was very instrumental in the Eels Divisional title and its’ run in the playoffs where we swept the Atlanta Madhatters in 2 games: 5-0 and 6-2.  Crossley quarterbacked the Eels as they march through the Nationals battling MJDP, the NY Aviators, the Minnesota Blue Ox, and the Carolina Hurricanes and ultimately to the Championship game against the Charlotte Rush.

There was no doubt by any of the Eels coaches how good Crossley was. Premier Head Coach Frankie Scarpaci echoed; Stewart is definitely a NCAA Division 1 prospect.  He developed so well with us. He has an extremely high skill set, sees the ice so well and is a true student of the game. His hockey IQ is up there with the best. Moreover, he is a competitor. One of the most aggressive players who ever sported an Eels jersey. Moreover, he is very coachable. Crossley will do so well at RIT. Perfect fit for him. We are very proud of Crossley. It is an honor and a privilege to have coached him.

The Eels Elite Team Wins Over Palm Beach Typhoon in an Old Fashion Barnburner.

The Eels Elite Team Wins Over Palm Beach Typhoon in an Old Fashion Barnburner.

The Eels Elite team traveled down to West Palm Beach hoping to gain some leverage in the standings over the Tampa Juniors. They knew full well the last time these two teams met in Palm Beach the Eels got stung as the Typhoon took them down in defeat. The boys just came off a huge win over Tampa and have been training extra hard for the game against their East Coast of Florida foes.

Well, they set out to score and that is what they did. They ignited a high-flying octane type game putting 9 goals past both Typhoon goalies. No matter   who you are playing, when you score 9 goals you must take notice. Although glad about the win and the aggressive offense, the coaches and team recognized that it was far from perfect or satisfying. The reason: Well they allowed the Typhoon to hang in there as they scored 5 goals on the Eels. A 14-goal contest is much too high and both team coaches were not happy with the defensive efforts and performances. Sometimes the boys get on a run and forget that you need to be the best overall defensive team to move on and solidify your position

Be rest assured, the Eels will be looking to close that gap and suffocate the Typhoon in their next game – Sunday – vs the Eels.  Good job guys but let’s tighten things up a bit.
