Florida Division

Forward: Collin Patterson, Florida Eels

Patterson (‘02/Melbourne, Fla.) was everywhere that the Eels needed him to be, scoring big goals and setting up even more. In three games – two against the Florida Jr. Blades and one against the Palm Beach Typhoon – he put up three goals and five assists for eight points. He now has 143 points in 112 career games over three seasons with the Eels, good for second all-time in Eels points.

Defense: Jeremy Pizzola, Florida Jr. Blades

Pizzola (‘03/Cape Coral, Fla.) is enjoying his fifth season of USPHL hockey, ranging from the Jr. Blades 15U program in 2018-19 to this secon full season with the USPHL Premier team. Pizzola posted three goals in a wild 9-8 OT loss to the Palm Beach Typhoon for his first career hat trick. He also posted three blocked shots in his last three games. He has now played 134 USPHL games at four levels.

Goaltender: Adam Rouleau, Florida Eels

Florida Eels Elite Team Avenge 2 OT Losses by a Crushing 7-1 Defeat Over the Jr Blades

Every player in this game was key to the win….

The Eels Elite team were upended twice by the Jr Blades in OT last week but today they responded with a clear crushing defeat over their cross town rivals the Jr Blades. They were out to avenge their losses and this was a loud statement in that direction. The Blades struck first but then it was all Eels with two goals in the first period. Valpeteris 6 (Kaiser, Campbell), 6:44. 3, Florida Eels, Colton 7 (Di Re, Carnes), 18:56.

In the 2nd period the Eels struck again for two making the score 4-1

Valpeteris 7 (Di Re, Cermak), 1:08 (PP). 5, Florida Eels, ClIngerman 17 (Marchetta, Di Re), 5:23.

You could tell going down by 3 goals really was taking a toll on the Blades as they saw their two game winning streak and push for a playoff spot dwindle. Body language was telling the story for both teams. The Blades a bit slower and the Eels with a huge surge

In period 3 the Eels saw blood and tuned up the throttle with 3 more goals and a shut down performance by veteran Net minder Jake Mork. (23 shots-22 saves).

Di Re 12 (Cermak, Valpeteris), 1:47 (PP). 7, Florida Eels, ClIngerman 18 (Marchetta), 3:28 (PP). 8, Florida Eels, Cermak 15 (Di Re, Colton), 4:40.

What was amazing in this game was those top Eels players missing from the game because of sickness or injury. Great job guys

Florida Eels Premier Team Defeats The Jr Blades in Two Straight Games Today 5-1

Eels Down Blades 5-0 on Saturday and 5-1 today

The Eels Premier team frustrated the Jr Blades once again with a 5-1 clear and convincing win. In period one both teams were a bit tight and the Blades created a road block on their blue-line  but the Eels managed to adjust a bit and  got  on the board with a goal from Moore 13 (Hennessy, Godbout),

Then in the 2nd period the Eels opened things up after changing things up a bit and turning up the offense and extended the lead to 5-0 scoring as follows:

Godbout 10 (Patterson, Ziemba), 5:13. 3, Florida Eels, Moore 14 (Crupi, Hennessy), 6:16. 4, Florida Eels, Godbout 11 (Zebley, Goddard), 8:45. 5, Florida Eels, Hennessy 17 (Moore, Crupi),

In the 3rd the Jr Blades scored 1 but it was still a mountain to climb and regrettably for them it was a mountain to climb without a backpack. Too much for any team to crack the Eels at that point.

With another phenomenal game in net for the Eels by Rouleau   (26 shots-25 saves).

He has now earned 2 wins 0 losses and only allowed 1 goal in 6 periods of play.

The Eels travel to Tampa on Friday to take on the Juniors and return home on Sunday for their home-stand vs the Tampa Juniors
