The Eels Premier and Elite teams traveled to Tampa on Friday and were snake bitten not once but twice by the Tampa Juniors. A week ago the Eels won the Florida Cup and in doing so handed Tampa major defeats. But yesterday, the story was different. We did not do enough and allowed ourselves to be outmanned, outgunned and at times outplayed. We offer no excuses. Some days you simply do not have it.
But the sign of a good team is to discern your inequities and hiccups. To be able to break down the game and internalize what each player and coaches have to do marks the difference of great teams. Indeed, you learn twice as much from your losses than your wins.
The Eels have a plethora of talent and know what has to be done. We will take our losses very seriously and trust me measurably improve our team.
The Eels take on the Tampa Juniors on Sunday and will be looking to avenge their losses. You can expect a very energized, determined and more focused group of guys on Sunday.
Next week the Eels head on a major road trip to Atlanta to take on the Madhatters. Each team will have a 3 game series.
