Doss Allen A Real Work Horse On Defense For the Florida Eels Elite Team

You Can See The Intensity In His Eyes Every Shift and in Every Game

Doss Allen A Real Work Horse On Defense For the Florida Eels Elite Team

Many folks speculated that when the Eels lost their two All Star Defenseman to NCAA College teams this past spring that the Eels would find it very difficult to fill that hole. Eels coaching staff knew differently. We had in our ranks Doss Allen who came to the Eels last season from one of our top scouts in the Midwest Coach Jon Paris. Coach Paris could not have given us a stronger recommendation. Doss played for Coach Paris and came out of the Omaha Lancers Midget program. We were indeed excited to get him commented GM Scarpaci.  We were able to train and develop him into the player we knew he could become. He is a kind of a hybrid between Cody Rogers and Brien Thompson. He is very smart in his own zone.  That is a coach’s dream. He is not reckless on the rush. He handles the puck well. Doss does not panic.  This comes with training and experience. It was so beneficial for his player development to have been here last year.

Doss is very dangerous on the blueline. He has a very hard and effective shot. He has great size over 6 feet and skates quite well. He has stepped up as a leader with so many of the younger defenseman that the Eels brought in this season. It is his turn to mentor and help the younger guys develop.

Allen is a gamer no doubt. You can see the determination and intensity in his eyes. He comes to play every game. He has a high compete level and the will to win. No doubt when the game is on the line and in key situations. GM Scarpaci says he is our Iron Man On Defense. He gets quite a bit of minutes each game. Coach Bloomingburg has Doss Allen on the Power play, penalty kill and you can count on him to be there at the end of every period. Coach Bloomingburg echoes that he has a great work ethic. He works out off ice as hard as he plays on the ice. He is an unselfish player who dedication is contagious.

GM Scarpaci also opines that Doss Allen is a great individual. He has impeccable intangible qualities such as strong morals and great character. He works 25+ hours a week to help support his expenses. He is a great example to all of the players on both the Elite and Empire team. Coach Paris no doubt finds some of the best hockey talent in North America and refers them the Eels. But with Doss Allen, he sent us a special individual. He is a key ingredient in the Eels plans for this season.

We are really high on Doss Allen and his hope and mission to play NCAA College hockey. This is a key year for him. We expect to have some good college scouts and recruiters to get a good look at him in the up coming USPHL Showcase in North Carolina.
