Florida Eel Elite Team Sweep DME in weekend home and away stand

Florida Eels Elite Team Sweeps DME in Weekend Home and Away Series.

The Eels traveled to Daytona Friday night and came out victorious. A solid 3-2 win over a feisty DME Swamp Rabbits team. These guys battled us all night long said GM Frank Scarpaci. They never quit They have a top goalie in net and he will turn away your best shooters so you need to press hard. In fact, unless you fore-check is systematic and continuous you may come up on the short end notes Head Coach Alex Sanchez. Just ask the Jr Blades and the 1stplace Tampa Juniors who suffered a loss to DME.

We were happy to get the win but expect want more offense from our guys says Coach Sanchez. We need to get scoring form more guys….and on Sunday he got just that. The attack was relentless. The Eels unleashed 55 shots on the DME netminder. The Eels clogged the neutral zone frustrating the heck out the DME forwards and held them to 21 shots and more importantly 1 stingy goal compared to the Eels 5 goals that unraveled their team.

Scoring went as follows:

Scoring

0:50 EEL Jake Court (28) ASST: Gage Dill (38), Nicholas Tigges (11)
2nd
7:03 EEL Thomas Zebley (9) ASST: Gage Dill (39), Jake Court (50)
8:36 EEL Alec Elinoff (4) ASST: Corey Altieri (4), Ryan Boyd (5)

16:41 EEL Camden Hamilton (3) ASST: Nicholas Tigges (12), Dylan Tschabold (4)

In net was Tom Steere who although had less shots had to come up huge defending his crease. In fact, DME had over a dozen solid scoring chances and many would have gone in had Steere not come up huge for the Eels

This win marks 7 straight wins over DME. The Eels are the only team in Florida that won all of the games against DME. Coach Sanchez was thrilled that he had scoring from a number of different players. As GM Scarpaci echoes we need a balanced attack and we had 10 different players who garnered points in this 5-1 win. Now that is what it takes to move on in the playoffs. Next week the Eels Elite and Premier team’s faceoff against the Tampa Juniors in an unusual one game weekend.
