Eels Premier Team Aveges Saturday Night’s Loss With A Solid 5-1 Win Over Charleston
The Florida Eels Premier team avenges their loss in home opener to the hands of the Charleston Colonials 3-1 on Saturday with a clear and unequivocal win Sunday 5-1.
Saturday it was a bit disappointing for all. At first the Eels came out hard with 11 shots to 1 against the Colonials. It looked like the Eels were going to dismantle Charleston. Their fore-check was in place and running on all cylinders. They pounded the opposing goalie. Indeed, it appeared the Colonials goalie was all they had. But in the 2ndand 3rdperiod the Eels were stifled. A bit lethargic. Things were not clicking and their netminder got stronger and stronger as the afternoon advanced. In the end the Eels clearly a team with superior talent came up short. Coach Frankie did not unravel his team. He got his team back refocused for Saturday. Things like this happen and we had to stick to our game plan. Keep focused. And maintain our resolve.
Sunday was an entirely different story. The Eels came out on fire and scored 5 goals to 1 on the Colonials netminder. In fact, the Eels outshot their opponents 42 to 21. It was as if there were a completely different team out there today.
