Florida Eels Premier Team Weekend Ice Cap

The Florida Eels Premier team splits the weekend going 2-2 in their 4 game homestand. After dropping their first two games of the weekend Friday 5-2 and Saturday  4-3 to Atlanta, the Eels sprung back with two of their best games all season over the Northern Cyclones 5-1 and avenged  their losses to Atlanta 6-0. They looked like two different teams from Friday and Saturday compared to Sunday and Monday. No excuses but the guys were a bit exhausted with 12 games in the past 3 weeks. That was a daunting task. It was great experience as we played so many teams from New York, New Hampshire, Boston, Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Atlanta. What an incredible experience for the players playing so many different players and teams. The intense playing experience no doubt will prove dividends in their player development. Moreover, these games have been broadcast over Hockey TV and the college coaches and recruiters have been tuned in every game. Never before have our guys garnered so much exposure and visibility in the regular playing season.

The Eels Premier team remain  in 2nd place in the Florida Division   but by a small margin. Two points. Tampa has 52 points whereas the Eels have 50 points. This will all come down to the final game before the final standings are set. The net result is the first-place team captures 1st seed and they play the 4th place team. Whereas the 2nd place team plays 3rd place. Today the Colonials are in 3rd with 41 points and Atlanta has 29 points. Don’t count out the Jr Blades as they have 27 points.

We know our job is not done. We have much work to be completed . We have ½ dozen games remain in the regular season. We are in playoff mode and you can expect the jets to be fired up over the next few weeks. We are all proud of the boys who found the determination and resolve to come back and take the final two games of the weekend.

We head to Advent Ice Center this Wednesday a sole game for the Premier team while the Elite remain home for practice. 11:00 am game time. We play the Twin City Thunder out of Lewiston  Maine. Come join us live (Parents are welcome) or on Hockey
