The Florida Eels host 3 teams at the NCDC Pre Draft Showcase. Players from across the USA Canada and the USA joined the Eels coaches and staff this weekend competing in a series of games against teams from across the USPHL spectrum. The Eels diid things right offering all of the 60 players a set of practices for each team and 3 separate scrimmages for the 3 teams before the showcase games commenced.
The Eels brought in college coaches and Eels alumni who went off to college and Eels alumni who play Pro Hockey to assist with the practices, scrimmages and games. It is a phenomenal way for the players to get first hand knowledge of the Junior and College process and experiences. We also had the opportunity to have dozens of individual ,meetings with players and parents. First class effort by the Eels.
Each of the Eels teams will play a minimum of 3 games at the Showcase.
The Eels scouting staff were also in full swing at the venue as they met with strong prospects apart from the 3 teams.
Next weekend the Eels coaches head back on the road to Chicago at the USPHL Combine and the Eels GM Frank Scarpaci heads to Wisconsin. The Eels coaches will then head to Denver CO for the CCM Showcase and back to Boston for the June Pro AM Pre Draft and head to Las Vegas for the Global Showcase. The Eels will be back in Boston for the Chowder Cup Series in July
Busy travels
